Fluid & Metering Technologies systems are used in a wide variety of severe duty and/or highly precise fluid-handling applications around the world. Customized solutions range from diesel engine lubrication to food and beverage processing to the movement, measurement and dispense of fossil fuels, ethanol and other high value liquids and gases. With some of the most recognized brand names in positive displacement pumps, flow meters, compressors and injectors, to be a supplier of choice within the rapidly growing infrastructure markets including alternative energy, oil & gas, water and wastewater.
Supporting rapid global growth in drug discovery, clinical diagnostics and medical technology advancements, our Health & Science employees design, produce and distribute small-scale, highly precise fluidics components and sub-assemblies used in analytical and diagnostics instruments, as well as a growing range of medical equipment and implantable devices. Within this segment, it’s all about enabling increasingly small and precise sample sizes, more accurate analysis and quicker results for technicians and patients alike.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the sourcing projects of machined casting iron and ductile iron parts including supplier search, audit, RFQ and PPAP process. Assess and develop suppliers to meet IDEX business unit needs worldwide.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Review with IDEX Corp. business units the components for outsourcing
Represent IDEX BU to communicate business unit requirements to potential suppliers.
Seek for potential supplier information and execute supplier evaluation and qualification ;
Determine most appropriate source, accomplish sourcing plan (RFQ, PPAP process, localization project management)
Supplier management support and execution (supplier’s performance review and technical support in supplier’s improvement)
Manage projects and resolving technical issues to ensure suppliers meet IDEX specification requirements.
Insure Inspection Plans are followed by Suppliers, assist in continuous quality improvement programs and resolve quality problems as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Skills essentials to the job
Technical:
General knowledge of commodity market and supplier base in China. Knowledge and experience with sand casting, die casting and investment casting process
Must be familiar with tight tolerance work in production
Engineering background is expected with ability to understand and communicate engineering requirements.
Good understanding of manufacture process, testing process; quality system and??? tooling.
General knowledge and experience with supplier assessment.
Good ability to understand complex drawings and material specifications.
Familiar with quality management system including ISO9001:2000, 5S and TS16949 and with quality control tools PPAP;
Good understanding of inspection tools and methods for international GD&T;
Business
Good project management skills;
Acuity feeling of cost and risk; good communication skills;
Active attitude and thinking abilities of “I can do “and “how can I do”
Good at utilizing the resources and support of team to resolve problems. Perform tasks and commitments well;
Good written and oral skills in both English and Chinese;

Prior experience with manufacturing of products requiring high technical complexity.

Qualifications required
Bachelor degree in foundry and or mechanical engineering
3 years minimum experience in supplier quality or sourcing position.
3 years minimum experience with an international or export company.
