POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for all aspects of the project from initiation to execution and closure.
Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Project integration management – Manage projects and resources in accordance with internal business processes (i.e. IDEFs) to ensure requirements are effectively delivered across the project cycle of: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling and closure.
Project scope management – Ensure scope is effectively managed, as required in accordance with stakeholders/sponsor’s contractual agreement and internal business processes (i.e. IDEFs).
Project Time management – ensure all activities and resources are effectively planned and managed to meet project deliverables.
Project cost management – Ensure proper and effective financial control of projects to meet financial control requirements, project deliverables and budget.
Project quality management – ensure that the planning, assurance and control of quality across products, systems and services is effective to meet project deliverables
Project human resources management – Select, manage and develop the project team (including sub-contractors) to effectively meet the project deliverables and team member’s personal development plans. Senior project managers may also be required to supervise and guide project managers in a coaching / mentoring role.
Project communications management – ensure timely and accurate communication to project stakeholders (internal and external) as required.
Project risk management – Ensure effective planning and control of qualitative and quantitative risks to minimize any adverse impact on project costs and deliverables.
Project procurement management – Ensure procurement is effectively managed, as required and in accordance with internal business processes (i.e. IDEFs), budget and cash flow.
Project health and safety – Ensure the necessary legislation relating to machinery design and health and safety are followed at all times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Project and/or implementation management experience: 6 to 10 years (with at least 2 to 3 years working on projects)
Engineering experience is an advantage
Experience of the food processing, chemical or pharmaceutical industry is desirable but not essential
Experience managing teams of 10 to 20 people
Experience working with remote/dispersed teams is highly desirable
Experience working on international projects is desirable
Proven experience of using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) e.g. MS Office) and project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project) is an advantage
Educated to Bachelor degree level or equivalent
Professional project management qualification is desirable but not essential
