In the past 10 years, China is a key growth market and the business has been growing very quickly. The company’s aim is to continue the growth agenda and be a material key player in the market.

POSITION SUMMARY

1. There are two main purposes with the position.
2. One purpose is to source local chemical material to supports regional procurement manager to achieve the objectives of localization projects .The expected outcome is to speed up the localization of chemical material for growing business in China.
3. Another purpose is to support logistic business with biddings and contracts maintenance.

JOB LOCATION

Shanghai

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Accountable to line manager for the procurement deliverables in China.
2. Lead the implementation of additives sourcing arrangements that assures alignment with the global strategies of the respective procurement categories.
3. Understand business needs and collaborate with line manager to identify opportunities and develop necessary solutions to materialize the anticipated value.
4. Build effective relationships with suppliers to promote us as a preferred customer and manages suppliers’ operational performance.
5. Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders (including manufacturing, technology, marketing, logistic & sales personnel) to achieve the purpose of this role.
6. Effective understanding of additives supply market environment in China.
7. Delivery of cost-saving projects on additives and enable timely reporting of benefits.
8. Ensure compliance with required our policies covering HSE, Ethics, Code of Conduct and Procurement Guiding Principles.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Personality Requirement:
2. An effective team player.
3. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with suppliers and Local Governments
4. Good commercial acumen.
5. Be able to get along well different levels within the organization.
6. Good knowledge of additives and logistic supply market environment is desirable.
7. Demonstrate effective technical understanding of specialty chemicals and their applications. Knowledge of their usage in lubricants is a plus.
8. Proven performance track record in the past years.
9. A degree in Engineering, prefer to chemical engineering.
10. A post graduate certification in business study is advantageous but not critical.
11. Two to five years working experience with good track record in a commercial role (such as sales, marketing or procurement) or a marketing technical support role with demonstrated flair for a commercial position.
12. Feasible to travel domestically and internationally
