Human resource strategic executive in Asia for global leader in aviation industry

Challenge

A global aviation manufacture prepared to establish the largest aircraft engine overhaul center for Asia in Shanghai, China. This kind of overhaul base did not exist in Great China region until our client landed.

The candidate would need to have significant experience working closely with CEO and COO, with wide and rich exposures to establishing a new start-up entity base through the HR organization and group.

Organization construction and recruitment were the core responsibility for this role in the beginning 2 years of this new engine overhaul base. At the same time, the executive would be responsible for managing the development and implementation of HR strategy and policies regionally.

Action

Consultants specialized in Human Resources practices met with the client to clarify the core qualifications for this vacancy. From doing so, consultants benefited to get the insights about the demands of this role and the type of leader who would likely be successful.

The team purposely identified about 30 HR executives from multinational companies and sectors in China, focusing on the industry of manufacture. After evaluation of both the external and internal candidates, we presented to client 4 shot listed candidates.

Results
The client ultimately made a choice to recruit a candidate who hailed from an Auto-engine manufacture. The candidate's
extensive experience in recruitment and organization construction, implementation of start-up HR policies, and strategic HR development views precisely matched out client's demands.
